"Where the Crawdads Sing" director Olivia Newman is back with another smartly-made adaptation of a beloved novel.

"I hated doing The Flying Nun so much," the 79-year-old told journalist Willie Geist in the preview of his upcoming Sunday Sitdown.

But then Sally Field was quickly cast as Tova, followed by Lewis Pullman, who played her young friend Cameron, and the picture became clear.
