I’ve seen a pattern pop up many time. Parents are first told their baby is ‘just colicky,’ then a few years later, the same child is labeled with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) which, for the record, I don’t like that label but that’s a different topic. Eventually, the pieces start to come together, and it becomes clear that the child likely has a PDA profile, a nervous system wired for autonomy that can take priority over basic needs, not defiance. It’s a big topic that I’m squeezing into
