Every time Scripture describes Jesus after the resurrection he is seated at the right hand of God. Psalm 110. Hebrews 1. Mark 16. Always seated. Except once. Acts 7. Stephen is being stoned outside the city. He looks up and sees Jesus standing. In the ancient world a judge was seated. But a witness stood to acknowledge what they had seen. Jesus stood for Stephen. Not as a judge. As a witness. Matthew 10:32. Whoever acknowledges me before others I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.
