Last week I had the honour of creating this 3 tier centrepiece for my sister in-laws wedding :) It was probably one of the most challenging cakes I have ever had to deliver, and I was kicking myself that I didn't just build the tiers at the venue. If you have the opportunity and time / space to do so, that would be the best thing to do. A fun, semi rustic 3 tier wedding cake design, created with buttercream and edible gold leaf. This particular cake was covered with an all vegetable shortening based buttercream, which happens to be vegan, and is SUPER DOOPER white. The recipe for this frosting is:�700grams vegetable shortening (Solite, Crisco, Trex, etc). 1.4kg icing sugar / powdered sugar 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 tablespoons coconut milk (or regular milk works too).
