In 1986, Mr. Bill Alge and his neighbors worked together to save a 20-acre island in West Ashley from development. These efforts led to the formation of Lowcountry Land Trust, and last week, like-minded conservationists celebrated @lowcountryearthmonth with an Alge Island kayak cleanup.
