On Sunday evening, Fresno Firefighters responded to a house fire where an 89-year-old woman was trapped upstairs in her home. Firefighter Connor Mansheim and Fire Captain Frank Gibson found her and carried her to safety, where she was turned over to awaiting paramedics. After days in critical condition at CRMC’s burn unit, and against the odds, she has made an incredible recovery and is now doing well. Station 6, also known as the "Dog House" is a single engine house and home to Engine 6. Located at 4343 East Gettysburg, this station has been serving and protecting their community since 1967. The city has recently increased the staffing at this station from 3 members to 4, per shift. The crew at Station 6 protects our Bulldogs at California State University, Fresno and surrounding areas.
